Nicholas Karides Nicholas set up ampersand in 2004. Until then he had served as Head of the Press and Information Section and Spokesman of the Delegation of the European Commission in Nicosia and was responsible for the elaboration and implementation of the Commission’s Enlargement Communication Strategy for Cyprus. Before that he was the London correspondent of the Cyprus Weekly newspaper and of the Cyprus News Agency, having first worked as production editor at Thomson International’s IFR magazines in London. Between 2000-2004 he lectured on European affairs at the Cyprus Academy of Public Administration. He is a frequent contributor to a range of Greek and English language newspapers. In 2005, with Andreas Hadjikyriacos, he set up Newswatch Media Monitoring, a subsidiary of ampersand and Gnora Media Consultants. Kyriakos Demetriou Kyriakos joined ampersand in June 2007. He holds a degree in International Relations from Boston University with a concentration in Foreign Policy and Security Studies and is a candidate for an MA degree in International Relations from Intercollege in Nicosia. He is a member of the Cyprus Association of Political Scientists. During his studies in Boston he participated in Model United Nations meetings at Boston University as an advisor on strategy and held the position of Director of Activities for the Boston University Hellenic Association.
